INFORMATION ABOUT HEALTH AND SAFETY
You should find all the information you need about our health and safety procedures but if not please contact us.
LICENCES AND RISK ASSESSMENTS
Our operational procedures, risk assessments, safe working practices, insurance, equipment and content of accredited or endorsed programmes are vetted and audited by the LOtC. We are proud to be Quality Badge and Adventure Mark holders. See our accreditations page for further details.
As such, we do not send out risk assessments as standard. You will be issued with a Risk Management document which contains our insurance details. However, if you still require any specific risk assessments, please do contact us and we are happy to issue these.
FIRST AID
All our staff are first aid trained specifically for the outdoors and carry first aid equipment with them.
EQUIPMENT
Outposts only uses equipment that adheres to current EU standards and is in keeping with the latest technology and improvements in safety standards. Equipment is well maintained and regularly checked for serviceability, in accordance with our licensing requirements.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
We have robust emergency procedures in place, which have been vetted and audited by LOtC. These cover minor and major incidents including fire. Groups are made aware of fire assembly points and procedures on arrival by the Course Director.
SECURITY – CCTV
The entrance of our site at Lydeard Farm is monitored on CCTV by office staff. Our main office building is located immediately inside the gateway of the farm.
COMMUNICATIONS
Outposts’ staff use radios to communicate with each other and the on-site office staff as there is little or no mobile reception on site. Any emergency would be dealt with from the main office. Alternatively, there is a landline in the Bush Camp Shelter for emergency use only.
