Colonel Michael Kingscote - Founder & Managing Director
On completion of a full military career during which he commanded a UK Special Forces Regiment, Michael founded Outposts Ltd in 1998. Since then the company has expanded to provide outdoor training to over 8500 clients annually. It simultaneously mounts overseas expeditions.
His wide military experience encompasses the conventional and the unorthodox. He has led challenging expeditions in many parts of the world, particularly in the deserts and mountains of the Middle East and Africa. His life has always been an active one and he fully appreciates the need in peoples' lives to be able to work alone or to benefit from working as a team. His extraordinary military background and expertise in expedition leading make him well qualified for the task.
He is an Accredited Practitioner of The Institute of Outdoor Learning, Honorary Colonel of the RTMC and Clerk of the Cheque & Adjutant to Her Majesty’s Bodyguard to the Yeoman of The Guard.

DD founded Outposts Ltd, jointly with her husband Michael Kingscote, in order to provide opportunities for young people from all walks of life to travel widely and learn about themselves. Being a true enthusiast of outdoor learning and travelling to unspoilt locations, she loves giving people the opportunity to explore, especially in Africa where her roots are, having been born in Kenya. DD runs

- a company which specialises in safaris, adventure holidays and expeditions to Africa.
Her other love is horses and she has been a very competent 3 day event rider, representing her country on occasions; she is not short of courage or determination and recommends
riding safaris in Africa
to all those with the same passion.
James Bellamy - UK Operations Manager
Responsible for the planning, contracting, operations, logistics and compliance of all UK programmes, James ensures that every activity we offer is underpinned by the highest safety standards including operational procedures, risk assessments, insurances, and equipment.
He ensures the compliance of operations and programme content (of accredited or endorsed programmes), which are regularly vetted and audited by industry regulators, awarding bodies and associations. This responsibility includes ensuring that instructors hold the appropriate and required national governing body awards and qualifications, are CRB vetted (Enhanced) and hold first aid qualifications.
James is a qualified and experienced International Mountain Leader (IML) having led and escorted numerous treks and expeditions across the European Alps and through Nepal & the Himalayas including Everest Base Camp!
Fee Bellamy - Overseas Operations Manager
Fee oversees the planning, administration and operation of all overseas expeditions.
Fee lived in Nepal and has led many treks and expeditions both in Nepal & the Himalayas and the European Alps where she was a trek leader for 6 years. She has also travelled extensively throughout India.
Her professional, in-depth knowledge, accumulated with groups on expeditions and long-standing client relationships allows Fee to bring her specialist expertise to the Outposts Team.
She is married to James, Outposts UK Operations Manager. They have a son, Charlie and a daughter, Georgie.
Gail Izzard - Sales and Marketing Manager
After graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde, Gail gained invaluable sales and marketing experience working across a variety of industries, including Leisure, Events & Conferencing industries, Travel Agency, Tour Operations, Airline and Local Government.
Having experienced for herself the exhilaration and excitement of Outposts outdoor adventure activities and challenges (including coasteering and caving!) Gail is even more enthusiastic and committed to bringing what she describes as the best kept secret in Somerset - the world of Outposts - to an ever widening audience.
Katie White - Office Manager
A key member of Outposts Ltd, being almost certainly the first point of contact for any enquiry, query or reference and responsible for the administration of the entire office in Broomfield!
Having been born and bred in the West Country Katie spent her Gap year travelling through Brazil and India as well as working for a mission charity in Lucknow.
She graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an MA in Cultural History and International Relations before spending two ski seasons chalet hosting in the French and Swiss Alps.
Tim Sykes - Director
After a short and hugely enjoyable period in the Army, Tim spent the next 25 years with Grand Metropolitan in its Brewing and Property divisions.
He is now the Chairman of Interpub, an ever expanding company that operates pubs and backpackers' hostels. His financial expertise is at the heart of Outposts Ltd's research and development.
A graduate of Cranfield Business School, he is married to Tisha, a solicitor and has a grown up son.
