Alternative Learning Provision for young people
Outposts provides specialist, tailor-made programmes designed to support young people facing emotional and behavioural challenges in mainstream education.
We work with LEA Schools, Charitable Bodies, Academies and PRU's, liaising closely with inclusion managers, SENCO's (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators) and Student Learning Support Staff to provide effective, carefully managed and monitored programmes based on alternative learning outside the classroom.
Our aim is to bring about tangible, measurable and sustainable outcomes by providing an environment which is inspiring, engaging, motivating and educating.
Programmes are designed to: improve inter-personal and communication skills, promote a better understanding of social interaction, encourage a positive attitude and willingness to learn, teach life skills and instill a sense of belonging. Our aim is for students to acquire increased self esteem and confidence through achievement and accomplishment.
Most importantly we aim to provide positive role-models through quality and professional instruction, coaching and mentoring.
"Those students with the most complex needs, or who are most vulnerable because of their circumstances, are extremely well cared for, guided and supported. This results from a high degree of individual tuition from support assistants and off-site partners who work regularly with the students and know them well." (Outposts)
